With each and every one of our batches of cowboys from hell we've had the same question asked - Do you make a not spicy BBQ sauce? The answer is still no... but Cowboys From Heck is about the closest we're going to get, as Life is Definitely Better Spicy, and so is BBQ sauce. This recipe has been adapted to about as low of a heat level as we can get with a habanero pepper base.
We've adapted our signature sauce Cowboys From Hell to minimize the 3.5/10 heat without sacrificing any flavour!
This smoky, tangy, and savoury masterpiece begins with freshly smoked sweet onions, bell peppers, and habanero peppers. To offset the heat, we've sweetened this sauce with molasses and brown sugar, blending in a rich fruit profile of blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, and black cherry juice. Apple cider vinegar adds a tangy depth, while freshly roasted garlic and a generous amount of black garlic provide a savory, aromatic flavour.
This complex, smoky symphony is perfect for elevating grilled favorites like burgers, steaks, kabobs, chicken, and lamb. It also makes a great addition to jerk sauce and can be used to add a smoky, garlicky, spicy kick to other condiments and sauces!
