Devil’s Tongue, black garlic & yuzu infused finishing soy sauce

Introducing Black Dragon, the fiery counterpart to our Black Garlic Shoyu. Built from the same rich, umami-forward foundation as the original, but this version adds Devil’s Tongue peppers, extra black garlic, and fire roasted ginger for a bolder, hotter sauce with even more depth and flavour!

Our recipe combines traditionally brewed soy sauce with black garlic, fire roasted shallots, garlic and ginger, shiitake mushroom, yuzu, and rice vinegar, subtly sweetened with brown sugar. We then turn up the intensity with a little extra black garlic and ginger before adding Devil’s Tongue peppers, bringing a bright, lingering heat that complements the savoury richness rather than overpowering it.

Black Dragon is equally at home as a premium finishing sauce or a versatile ingredient in the kitchen. Drizzle it over sushi, rice bowls, noodles, dumplings, grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables, or use it to bring serious flavour to stir-fries, fried rice, ramen, marinades, glazes, and Asian inspired dishes.

It also makes an incredible base for spicy dipping sauce/chili oil! Perfect for gyoza, dumplings, spring rolls, and anything else that could use an extra hit of heat and umami.
